Born in Udine on September 8th, 1962, he specialized in classical studies at the city secondary school. In Udine he also attended University, graduating cum laude in civil engineering in May 1988. He is married and father of four children. In 1988 he started working in I.CO.P. S.p.A., today Benefit Corporation, the family construction company, which, founded in 1920 by his grandfather Alvise, operates in foundations and microtunnel constructions and in the field of road and hydraulic works; today it is one of the leading European companies in microtunnel and special foundation works. In 2022 ICOP Group - with more than 250 employees - had a turnover of over 90 million euro, with an important part of it being achieved abroad. Since 1990 he is one of the Company technical directors. Ha has been I.CO.P. SpA President from 1994 to 2002; from 2004 he has been Vice President and Managing Director. With his brother, Vittorio Petrucco, he collaborates in the management of all I.CO.P. S.p.A Group Italian and foreign companies. At the moment ICOP has offices in France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, and Malaysia. The Company also operates in some Latin American countries. His activity as an entrepreneur has led him to hold various positions in the associative field:

• Chairman of “Cassa Edile” (the Bilateral Construction Industry Board and Special Construction Workers’ found) of the Province of Udine from 2003 to 2014;
• President of CEFS - Centre for Training and Safety Education in the construction filed - a bilateral body for construction activities training of the Province of Udine - from 2004 to 2010;
• President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia “Formedil” (Association of schools providing education and training on construction activities in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region) from 2006 to 2012;
• From 2010 to 2021 member of the Board of Directors of “Formedil”;
• Since 2006 Member of the Commission of Industrial Relations and Social Affairs of ANCE (the National Association of Builders);
• Since 2019 President of ANCE’s National Council, currently with responsibility for the Study Centre;
• Since 2019 Vice President of the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) of which he has been First Vice President since May 2023;
• From December 2021 Deputy Vice President of Confindustria (General Confederation of Italian Industry) Udine with responsibility for Culture;
• From 2023 member of the Chamber of Commerce Pordenone - Udine Council.

Among other institutional offices:

• Advisor of the Order of Engineers of Udine from 2001 to 2005;
• President of the FVG Social Housing Consortium from 2013 to 2022;
• “Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine” Council member.

He has been also volunteering in several associations, in particular in associations dealing with housing deprivation problem and in an association, Sudin Onlus, which has given birth to and has been supporting for over 10 years a vocational in South Sudan.
