Born in Catania in 1974. He is full professor of the history of political doctrines at the University of Bologna. He has taught at Columbia University in New York and was the coordinator of the PhD in global history, culture and politics. He directs the Academy of Global Humanities and Critical Theory, the master's degree in management and co-production of participatory processes, communities and proximity networks, and is president of the Foundation for Urban Innovation. He has published with many prestigious publishing houses, including Il Mulino, Einaudi, Laterza, Cambridge University Press and Princeton University Press and has been translated into English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese.
