Originally from Gorizia and now based in Pordenone, Cristina Amirante is the Regional Councillor for Infrastructure and the Territory of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, with responsibility for Public Works and Construction, Strategic Projects, Policies for Urban Regeneration, Quality of Living and Educational Infrastructure, European Projects, Port Affairs and Integrated Logistics, Regional and Local Public Transport, Regional Civil Motorisation, and Landscape, Territorial and Strategic Planning.
Born in 1974, she holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is qualified to practise as an engineer. In 2000, she began her professional career as a project assistant at the Municipality of Trieste. In 2001, she was appointed on a permanent contract as a technical officer at the Municipality of Gorizia, later moving to the Provincial Authority, also in Gorizia. Subsequently, in 2011, she joined the Municipality of Fanna (PN) in a managerial role, and in 2015, in the same capacity, she transferred to the Municipality of Fiume Veneto (PN).
She entered politics in 2016 when she was appointed Councillor for the Municipality of Pordenone, with responsibility for Urban Planning, Mobility, Transport and Road Networks, Soil Protection, Coordination of Major Projects and Works, European Funding and Urban Regeneration. Her proven ability to plan and work effectively and consistently throughout her five-year term, with the aim of providing the city with new infrastructure, was the key factor in her re-election as Councillor in 2021, when she received the highest number of votes in the local elections. On 20 April 2023, she was appointed Regional Councillor and, from the very outset, has demonstrated professionalism, competence and determination, helping to make the Region increasingly attractive and welcoming: a place where one can invest with confidence in the future. She has devoted all her energy to building a solid, shared vision, serving the citizens and the regional administration. Because growth is not just about building, but about understanding the needs of the region and providing solutions that last over time.
