After practising as an architect and architectural technologist, Andrea began his sustainability career in 2011 after moving to the UK and completing an MSc in Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh, where he received the best student award. He worked across architecture and sustainability consulting in roles at Ryder Architecture, WSP UK, and PRP. From 2020 onward, he held sustainability leadership positions at WilkinsonEyre, Stanton Williams (UK), and Open Project (Italy). His work has focused on contributing to the development of ESG strategies, advocating a transition towards sustainable and regenerative design practices, initiating post-occupancy evaluations, and training staff in environmental analysis based on building physics as well as embodied and whole life carbon assessments. Andrea was a part-time lecturer at UCL’s Bartlett School from 2019 to 2023, mentoring students on regenerative and environmental design, and is now an Honorary Lecturer. At both Open Project and Stanton Williams, he has actively mentored younger colleagues, often needing to communicate technical sustainability concepts to architects unfamiliar with them — requiring strong communication skills and a drive to inspire and empower others.
