Fabio Bottero was born in Milan in 1978.
He grew up in Trezzano sul Naviglio, a town he later served as Mayor from 2014 to 2024.
He holds a degree in Economics of Institutions and Financial Markets from Bocconi University, and subsequently earned a Master’s in Management of Ecological Transition at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Environmental issues are at the heart of his professional experience: he has worked for joint-stock companies engaged in the management and delivery of water and wastewater treatment services across the Metropolitan City of Milan.
Over the years, he has also nurtured a sustained commitment to political and civic life. He served as coordinator for the Corsico area of the Sinistra Giovanile (the national Center-Left Party youth organization) and, later, of the Italian Democratic Party.
He went on to become the first head of the Italian Democratic Party in Trezzano sul Naviglio.
Since 2020, he has also been the Lombardy Regional coordinator of Avviso Pubblico, a network of local authorities and regions working against organized crime and corruption.
In March 2025, the Mayor of Milan appointed him as the Councillor for Public Housing of the City of Milan.
